Construction SME digitalisation

Most construction firms are small firms. Digitalisation advice written for large organisations rarely survives contact with their reality.

A European Commission initiative on the digitalisation of construction SMEs set out to close that gap, giving smaller firms guidance they could actually apply.

Tousif supported the initiative as a trainer and technical expert, delivering training sessions and contributing to adoption guidance and the EU Digital Construction Handbook. The work centred on relating BIM and other digital technologies to the practical business and delivery needs of smaller firms.

The measure of the work was usefulness: material a small firm could pick up on Monday and use by Friday.
