Building digital twin demonstrator

A digital twin is only useful if the people running a building can actually see what it knows. This demonstrator explored what that connected view requires.

Building models, asset registers and live operational data are typically managed in different tools, by different parties, at different times. A demonstrator was set up to test whether they could be brought into one connected view.

Tousif contributed to the integration work across Autodesk Tandem, Azure and CKAN, connecting BIM asset models with IoT data so that model, asset and operational information could be accessed together.

The demonstrator gave the team a concrete basis for judging where a digital twin adds operational value, and where the effort outweighs the return.
